The project

This Vocational Tourism manual is the result of the research carried out on the occasion of the CUSTODES (Cultural Sites and Tourism Development of European Strategies) project, co-financed by the Central Europe Programme.

The CUSTODES project, coordinated by the Province of Rimini, was able to count on the active participation of:

This manual is the summary of a decade of research and formulations developed by the Scuola Superiore del Loisir e deli Eventi di Comunicazione secondary school of Rimini on the subject of “vocational tourism”. a term coined by the school and that has today become of common domain to indicate all those new forms of tourism that arise from the “passions” of individuals and their propensity to use tourist actions as a tool for expressing values, individual growth and relationship with one’s “likes”.

This formulation was also made possible with the support of several European Community (and non-EC) research and cooperation projects carried out over this period and above all with the constant collaboration of the Province of Rimini that from the very beginning (when the “idea” itself of vocational tourism more than anything else seemed to be an educational hypothesis) played a multi-faceted role of active support to the development of research, comparison and operational incentive, as well as the factual verification of the results.
